K. Satchidanandan (1946) is a prominent Indian poet writing in Malayalam, his native language. His career has spanned more than half a century. Satchidanandan is best known for his universal outlook and appreciation of poetry from all over the globe. With his poems, Satchidanandan endeavours to “to name the nameless and to give a voice to the voiceless”. Even when working within the establishment, he has always been a strong ‘critical insider’. He continues his activism for a just and egalitarian society.
