Jan Glas

(Netherlands, 1958)

Jan Glas (Netherlands, 1958) has long been considered one of the most important voices in Gronings poetry, but the appearance of a Dutch version of his poems was met with keen attention in the Netherlands and abroad. His role in the Gronings poetry world is visible in his contributions to various anthologies and magazines and in the literary prizes he received, including the Freudenthal-preis for new Lower Saxon literature. In addition to being a poet poet, Glass is also singer in Gronings-speaking jazz groups.
