Mustafa Stitou (Netherlands, 1974) studied philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. He debuted at the age of 19 with the collection Mijn vormen (My Forms), which was nominated for the C. Buddingh’ Prize. This was followed by Mijn gedichten (My Poems, 1998) and the collection Varkensroze ansichten (Pig-Pink Postcards) in 2003, which was awarded the VSB Poetry Prize and the Jan Campert Prize. Mustafa Stitou has performed at numerous literary festivals at home and abroad. In 2009, he was the City Poet of Amsterdam for a year. His fourth book of poetry, Tempel (Temple), will be published in May 2013.
