Mae Yway is from Myeik, a town on the coast of an island on the Andaman Sea in Myanmar’s deep south. A resident of Yangon since she was ten, her poems have been regularly seen in Burmese magazines and anthologized in Tuning: An Anthology of Burmese Women (2012) edited by Pandora.
Mae Yway’s first collection Courier is due out from The Eras (Yangon) this year. Mae Yway is a member of PEMSKOOL, a collective of 8 young poets from Yangon.
