Yet another chance to win free stuff (and international recognition), this time by submitting your own original work. We're giving away a signed, limited edition print from artist Poppy Hunt's video The Long Lane, along with a copy of Theo Dorgan’s poem ‘Wild Orchids, Wild Flowers’, handwritten by the poet, which was paired with Poppy’s video. Your poem could be next.
Welcome to the finale of the Poetry Project, and a competition to win a signed, limited edition artist’s print from Poppy Hunt’s video The Long Lane, and a copy of Theo Dorgan’s poem ‘Wild Orchids, Wild Flowers’, handwritten and signed by the poet. You can see the video and poem online here.
Launched in January 2013, the Poetry Project – a unique online event that pairs contemporary Irish poetry with video art – reaches its conclusion in just two weeks' time. Enjoyed in more than 110 countries, and by more than 60,000 visitors, the Poetry Project has brought a new way of looking at art and poetry. To celebrate, Poetry International is running a competition in partnership with the Poetry Project, and all you have to do to win is to send us your own poem, in response to one of the videos on the Poetry Project website.
Poems can be as long or as short as you like, though they should be in English. E-mail your entry and the title of the video that inspired it to us at [email protected] before 16 September 2013 (EDIT: DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 23 SEPTEMBER). The winner will have their poem displayed on the Poetry Project website, and will be announced before the end of September.
The Poetry Project has been supported by Culture Ireland as part of the Cultural Programme of Ireland’s Presidency of the EU, 2013, with additional support from Foras na Gaeilge.
