Sascha Aurora Akhtar (1976) was born in Pakistan. In search of an intangible freedom, she departed for the United States when she turned eighteen, and currently commutes between London and her homeland. In her poetry, words make music. To highlight this, Akhtar often combines her readings with photographs, film and dance. Concepts from mythology, classical antiquity and pop culture are juxtaposed, evoking a mystical world full of symbolism.
