John Ashbery (USA, 1927) first drew attention over fifty years ago with his quirky and experimental poetry, which he radically breaks with grammatical and thematic conventions. Since then his work has reached many new generations of enthusiastic fans. Ashbery will not be physically present in Rotterdam this year as he was at past festivals (1977, 1992). Nevertheless, he will fully participate in the festival through filming and live streaming.
