Il y a

Il y a la route avec ses trous,
il y a partout cette menace immense

qu’on m’appelle, qu’on me dise mon défaut,
je m’inclinerai jusqu’à terre.

There is the road

There is the road with its pot-holes,
everywhere there is this immense menace

that they summon me, that they tell me of my flaw,
I will bow down all the way to the earth.
