LI
There will be an instant in which the light of the known will be withdrawn, and the dust of
the lost cities, the countenance of an ancient god, will shine with the fire of the first moon.
We shall wake, and our awakening will open the earth, will bore into its center like a fruit
you want to take the seeds out of, and voices will be heard from North to South, cries as of
someone who will not again have a mouth. We shall raise one by one the forgotten names,
and we shall call the creature that was thrown away from us out of fear and who breathes in
the depths of nothingness.
The bird will also come that for centuries has watched over the secret, the shadow will
come, free at last, from the ruins.
