In her poetry, Barbara Köhler (Bürgstadt, 1959) approaches various subjects with an extraordinary linguistic precision, paradoxically enough in order to reveal multiple meanings and perspectives. By lightly adjusting expressions or emphasizing their literal meanings, her poems offer an unorthodox, surprising and multi-interpretable view of language and the world. She regularly collaborates with visual artists on multimedia artworks and textual installations for public spaces. Additionally, she works as a French and English translator.
